Vice Presidents of the Valuation Tribunal for England

 

Alfred Clark

 

Alfred Clark

A Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Alfred Clark has been a Justice of the Peace since 1985, including a period as Bench Chairman in Stockport. He started his career in the Valuation Office and for just under 29 years served with the British Rail Property Board and its successor BRB (Residuary) Limited as Estate Manager for the north of England.

 

Fiona Dickie

 

Fiona Dickie

Was called to the Bar in 1993 and practised in criminal law before working for nine years in London law centres (in housing and social welfare law). There she also recruited, trained and supported City lawyers volunteering at free advice clinics. Her recent voluntary activities include a directorship of The Dispute Service (which provides statutory tenancy deposit protection and dispute resolution), and she was a member of the School Exclusion and Admission Appeals Panels for the London Borough of Hackney. She now holds two other part-time judicial appointments - as a Chairman of the Residential Property Tribunal and a Road User Charging Adjudicator. She is also an Examiner of the Court and an accredited and experienced mediator in civil disputes

 

Michael Tildesley, OBE

 

Michael Tildesley OBE

A solicitor and Chartered Tax Advisor whose career was in the magistrates’ courts, holding positions of Justices’ Clerk and Justices’ Chief Executive. He was President of the Leicestershire Valuation Tribunal and, for five years was a member of the VTS Board. He is a part-time Chairman of the Rent Assessment Committee and Leasehold Valuation Tribunal, and a part-time judge of the Tax Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal. He is also a member of the Board of the Legal Complaints Service.

 

Martin Young

 

Martin Young

Martin Young was appointed as Vice President with effect from March 2011. He read law at Queen Mary College, University of London, graduating LLB and LLM, and was called to the Bar by the Middle Temple in 1984. He practises as a barrister from chambers in Lincoln's Inn.

Martin Young was a member of the London (North East) Valuation Tribunal from 1995, becoming a Chairman in 2004.
